MEET TADASHI SHIGA

With a career spanning over three decades, Tadashi Shiga has long served as a trusted advisor to developers, third-party brokers, architects, contractors, and other industry experts. A skilled land acquisition and development consultant, Shiga navigates the market with a methodical outlook to determine long-term trajectories, ensuring his clients invest in opportune neighborhoods and product types. Shiga is positioned to oversee projects through their entirety—leveraging his Building Science background to analyze the challenges and benefits of a site, select structure type, and building approach, and execute sales and marketing. His clients appreciate his strong network of connections to well-established development contacts, ability to find underserved segments within the marketplace and commitment to affordability and sustainability.

As Executive Director of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty’s Land Division, Tadashi brought together a team of brokers with over $100 million in existing inventory in the pipeline. The division aims to expand the company’s new development portfolio, particularly within townhomes and low-rise, wood-frame condominiums in key in-city neighborhoods outside of downtown Seattle or Bellevue. Shiga is deeply committed to the introduction of boutique product lines that promote affordability and can be delivered in shorter time frames than high-rise projects.

In addition to his role with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, Shiga owns and operates Evergreen Certified, a leading developer consultancy and certifying agency for sustainable construction practices including Built Green®, NW Energy Star®, Seattle SDCI Priority Green®, Passive House®, blower door, and duct testing, and other services. Evergreen Certified is now the largest third-party verification company for Built Green® homes, working with hundreds of builders on over 800 projects to date. A passion for energy efficiency and affordability also led Shiga to establish Ekovate, which specializes in cost-effective carbon-reducing technologies for developers and builders.

Evergreen Certified is consistently recognized for its accomplishments and was awarded the Master Builders Association Green Hammer in 2013 for “Private Advocate” and the “Pioneer Award” in 2018. In 2019, Shiga was inducted into the University of Washington Bothell “Hall of Alumni Excellence” and was appointed to the institution’s Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences Advisory Board. He is also the creator of 28K, a podcast and interview platform highlighting inspiring builders and architects around the Emerald City.

Tadashi is a third-generation Seattleite with a family legacy in development, commercial real estate, and fostering community.
